Research and Documentation

Research and documentation are largely done by researchers who regard indigenous communities as subject and not as participants of the research process. Research is extractive in nature and worsens stereotypes, discrimination and marginalisation of indigenous peoples'

The Indigenous Peoples and Biodiversity Program will extend assistance to indigenous communities to do their own documentations and researches. This will include but not limited to indigenous knowledge, systems and practices, indigenous resources management, indigenous political systems, customary governance, indigenous agriculture and language, among others.
